لقد مر على تاريخ مصر القديمة فترات كثيرة من القوة تخللتها فترات من الضعف، استغل خلالها بعض المسؤولين ضعف بعض الملوك أو ضعف فترات معينة من حكم هؤلاء الملوك، في إنتحال الهيئة الملكية الخاصة بأسماء الملوك من خلال كتابة جزء من اسمه –وهو الاسم الذي يتوافق مع اسم الملك- داخل خرطوش مثلما يفعل الملوك. في حين أن بعض المسؤولين تسموا بأسماء الملوك دون وضعها داخل الخرطوش، وقد ورد ذلك على جدران مقابر الأفراد في مجموعة من المشاهد، وهو ما ستعرضه الدراسة.:
The history of ancient Egypt has seen many intervals of strength mixed with times of weakness, throughout which some officials took advantage of the frailty of some kings or the weakness of particular periods during these kings' regime to imitate the royal form of the kings` names and titles by writing part of their names — which match up with King's name — inside a cartouche just as kings do. The study will demonstrate that although certain officials engraved the kings' names on the walls of specific tombs without putting them inside the cartouches, this was done in a number of scenes.
